SMU is proud to announce the arrival of Dr. Imed Hammouda to MedTech – Mediterranean Institute of Technology in August 2017.
Dr. Hammouda is joining MedTech as Professor and Dean. Prior to MedTech, he has been Associate Professor of software engineering at Chalmers and University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
Prior to MedTech, he has been Associate Professor of software engineering at Chalmers and University of Gothenburg, Sweden. In Gothenburg, he has been the program manager for the Software Engineering and Management bachelor program. His academic interests include software ecosystems, open source software, software architecture, software development methods and tools, and variability management. His publication record includes over 80 articles in scholarly journals and conferences. Before moving to Gothenburg, he was Associate Professor at Tampere University of Technology (TUT), Finland where he obtained his Ph.D. in software engineering in 2005. At TUT, he was heading the international masters program at the Department of Pervasive Computing.
He was a founding member and leader of TUTOpen – TUT research group on open source software. He has been the principal investigator of several research projects on various open initiatives. He has been the organizer and PC member of several international conferences and workshops such as OSS, SSE, MindTrek, and E-Learning. He acted as reviewer for many scientific journals. Prof. Imed Hammouda is the Vice-Chair of IFIP WG 2.13 on Open Source Software.
