SMU together with the “Organisation Méditerranéenne de la Route de la Soie” was proud to welcome a delegation of twenty Chinese business men and women led by the World Public Welfare Economic Cooperation Organization (WPEO) on Monday, March 4th. The objective of this initiative, led by the China Tunisia Cooperation Council, is to contribute to the economic development of African countries, including Tunisia. South Mediterranean University (SMU) was proud to be one of the Tunisian institutions visited by the delegation.

Dr. Mahmoud Triki, Founder and President of SMU presented the university and its three institutions (MSB, MedTech, and LCI) as well as its network of academic partners across North America and Europe. Both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen ties between Tunisia and China through student and faculty exchange, among other joint actions. Were present at the signing ceremony Dr. Sahbi Basli, former ambassador of Tunisia in China and Mr. Souheib El Meddeb, President and Secretary General of the China Tunisia Cooperation Council.
